Project team
· Project leader is Christine Morales.
· Project languages: FR and EN
· Each team will consist of at least 8 pupils per school, 15 years of age
· Project website: http://fpbi.jimdo.com/ ; each team is authorized to change the contents of its’ own part of this website.
· We should organize a project logo competition amongst our students. Three most popular ideas per country in a final round. Students can vote.
Meetings
· Three meetings are planned (exact dates to be agreed upon):
o March 2014 in France
o September/October 2014 in ireland
o March 2015 in The Netherlands
· Communication will take place via e-mail, skype etc.
Ideas for projects (results from the brainstorm session)
· Create an application (APP) for iPad/iPhone/tablet PC, based on the idea of a virtual suitcase. If a user activates the APP he can start activities like games, quizzes, guided tours etc.
· Ideas for APP content and/or miniprojects:
o A geocache GPS game that will lead the players through various national monuments. A geography teacher of each school is available for assistance
o Country sterotypes, to be used as the starting point of a road towards a more thoughtful picture of each country
o A quiz based on pre-recorded sounds: ‘What is happening here?’
o A series of photo impressions of each country visit
o A ‘famous scientists’ project – celebrities in science per country
o A special day (like the already existing mole day in Ireland): math day, comenius day, language day etc. May 9th is Europe day, we also could use this in our project
o Activate your senses: food and drinks from each country (e.g. whiskey, champagne, jenever. How is it produced?)
o Musical activities, e.g. a selfmade song in three languages
o Famous writers per country, famous poems with comments from students of each country
o Films (like the film project already running in France) with subtitles in various languages.
o (The history of) royal houses in each country; current political systems
o Excavations and discoveries (e.g. the Tallund man, Otzi etc.)
o Simple scientific experiments (physics, chemistry)
o Multi-discipline phenomenons, e.g. the dykes in The Netherlands. You vcan consider these from various perspectives: geographical, physical, historical etc.
o National feasts and ceremonies
o Create a physical object (manual art activity, e.g. a big suitcase, statue or other object of art) during each visit. With each visit the object grows & develops further. After three visit weeks the object is finished. This could e.g. be a triptych, a painted on canvas
o A brief language course: learn simple sentences for daily practice
